A Major repair is any
replacement of a motor that is out of warranty.
No major repairs are available for the RBP. If
an RBP needs new batteries, a new pack must be
purchased. Our repair department reserves the
right to determine which charge, if any, will apply
to a repair.
If all else
fails (or if you have an old prod and want to
see if we can repair it) return the unit to your us or to the factory for repairs.

How
to Repair a HOT-SHOT
Repairs &
Adjustments
If your HOT-SHOT fails to operate:
•Check the batteries to be sure they are producing a high amperage
output. If batteries are weak, replace batteries. We highly recommend
our high amperage HOT-SHOT Alkaline Battery (ALK) for best performance
in your HOT-SHOT.
•Check all metal contact surfaces on the prod to make sure they are
clean and free of corrosion. This would include all contacts on the
motor and all contacts in the end cover and handle.
If this does not get the unit to work, follow the steps below
corresponding to the unit you have:
Green HS2000 - Replace the motor, part # HS1. If it is still
under warranty, the unit needs to be returned to your dealer or the
factory for proper repair or replacement. The HS1 motor is not
repairable.
Blue LMPLUS - Replace the motor, part # LMP1. If it is still
under warranty, the unit needs to be returned to your dealer or the
factory for proper repair or replacement. The LMP1 motor is not
repairable.
Brown LM1000 - Replace the motor, part # LMP1 (the LM1 was
discontinued and the LMP1 is the replacement). If it is still under
warranty, the unit needs to be returned to your dealer or the factory
for proper repair or replacement. The LM1 motor is not repairable.
(this prod is no longer manufactured).
Power-Mite - Send to factory for repairs. Opening the unit will
void the warranty.

•Remove the end cover and the shaft from the case, and remove the
batteries.
•With a screw driver, push the driver motor straight back from the
shaft end of the case out through the battery compartment.
•Clean the points: Check for corrosion on the tungsten points
on the M-2 vibrator reed, and the M-3 vibrator lug contact. If there
is a white film on the points, it indicates the presence of corrosion.
It is advisable to draw a thin piece of abrasive stick or fine emery
paper between the tungsten points to remove any corrosion.
•Adjust the points: It may be necessary to adjust the tension
of the points. This is most easily accomplished through the use of our
Motor Tester, part # HST (available from Hot-Shot).
If all else
fails (or if you have an old prod and want to
see if we can repair it) return the unit to your us or to the factory for repairs.
